Kilian Schaefer was born in Nuremberg. From 2002 to 2007, he studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau and Paris, and completed his legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, including placements at a law firm specializing exclusively in white-collar and tax criminal law, as well as at the German Embassy in Sarajevo. He has been a licensed attorney since 2010 and a partner at Galen Rechtsanwälte since 2017. He also lectures on criminal law at the Free University of Berlin.
